Los+Angeles-based+graphic+designer+Vina+Rostomyan+has+collaborated+with+a+vast+array+of+artists%2C+educators+and+creators+from+around+the+world+to+craft+one-of-a-kind+printed+materials.+Her+recent+projects+include+Never+known+but+is+the+knower%2C+based+on+French+researcher+Michel+Bitbol%E2%80%99s+lecture+exploring+the+blind+spot+of+science%2C+and+a+mat+for+a+limited-edition+book+of+multidimensional+prayers+by+Danish-Icelandic+artist+Olafur+Eliasson.+When+it+was+time+to+design+the+%E2%80%9CACCD+New+Berlin+Collective%2C%E2%80%9D+ArtCenter+called+on+Rostomyan.+She+followed+and+photographed+12+ArtCenter+students%2C+one+each+day%2C+documenting+their+projects+for+the+book+that+starts+with+a+countdown+of+1%2C008+minutes+%E2%80%94+the+total+time+they+spent+in+Berlin.+To+complement+the+ACCD+New+Collective+Program%2C+Rostomyan+designed+an+identity+for+ArtCenter%E2%80%99s+Illustration+Department.

Vina Rostomyan
The+president+and+creative+director+of+Douglas+Joseph+Partners+in+Santa+Barbara%2C+Doug+Joseph+began+his+career+in+1981+at+the+highly+respected+firm+of+Robert+Miles+Runyan+and+Associates.+In+1986+he+co-founded+Besser+Joseph+Partners%2C+a+design+firm+specializing+in+financial+and+corporate+communications+which+went+on+to+garner+national+recognition.+DJP%2C+which+he+founded+in+1996%2C+focuses+on+branding+and+consumer-based+marketing+with+an+emphasis+on+luxury+hospitality.+DJP+develops+restaurant+concepts+such+as+naming%2C+identity+and+marketing+for+Four+Seasons+Hotels+and+Resorts+in+North+America+and+Europe%3B+Joseph+also+designs+Four+Seasons%E2%80%99+comprehensive+guest+collateral+programs+tied+to+interior+space+renovations+or+properties+in+development.+Other+DJP+clients+include%3A+Rosewood+Hotels+and+Resorts%2C+Fraser+Papers%2C+Smart+Papers%2C+Cedars-Sinai+Medical+Center+and+Univision+Communications.+The+recipient+of+dozens+of+design+awards%2C+Joseph+also+teaches+typography+and+communications+at+ArtCenter.

Douglas Joseph

Sandra Higashi/Byron Glaser
Geoffrey+Brewerton%E2%80%99s+passion+for+graphic+design+and+brand+identity+design%2C+together+with+an+interest+in+globalization+and+social+justice+led+him+to+Myanmar%2C+where+he+now+lives%2C+finding+inspiration+in+the+colors%2C+textures%2C+typography+and+people+of+Burmese+culture.+As+senior+designer+at+Proximity+Designs%2C+whose+mission+is+to+increase+the+income+and+livelihood+of+Myanmar%E2%80%99s+rural+farmers%2C+Brewerton+has+led+projects+that+include+brand+identity+and+package+design+for+The+Lotus%2C+a+solar-powered+irrigation+pump%2C+designed+as+a+renewable%2C+cost-saving+alternative+to+diesel-powered+water+pumps%3B+and+%22Paddy+to+Plate%2C%22+a+publication+that+explores+the+rice+ecosystem+in+Myanmar%2C+encouraging+support+for+the+income+enhancement+and+well-being+of+small-holder+farmers.+Brewerton%2C+who+also+holds+a+BS+in+International+Relations%2C+first+worked+with+Proximity+through+a+Designmatters+fellowship+that+reinforced+his+determination+to+pursue+a+career+in+graphic+design+rooted+in+social+innovation+and+social+entrepreneurship.

Geoffrey Brewerton
Tyrone+James+Drake+is+a+graphic+design+professional+and+design+educator+based+in+Los+Angeles.+A+member+of+ArtCenter%E2%80%99s+Graphic+Design+faculty%2C+Drake+was+creative+director+for+the+University+of+Southern+California+School+of+Architecture+and+the+A%26D+%28Architecture+%26+Design%29+Museum%2C+Los+Angeles.+He+has+collaborated+on+branding+and+visual+communications+projects+in+architecture%2C+music%2C+fashion%2C+film%2C+sports%2C+health+and+beauty%2C+and+luxury+hospitality%2C+with+clients+such+as+Disney+Consumer+Products%2C+the+Los+Angeles+Clippers%2C+Twentieth+Century+Fox+and+KCRW+in+Los+Angeles.+He+grew+up+in+the+tough+and+often+turbulent+neighborhood+of+West+Oakland%2C+California%2C+home+of+the+Black+Panther+Party.+Highly+influenced+by+its+artistically+rich+music+and+passionate+political+culture%2C+his+design+narrative+draws+upon+the+early+and+continuing+influences+of+jazz+musician+Miles+Davis+and+is+reflected+in+the+seamless%2C+lyrical+relationship+that+he+achieves+between+text%2C+image+and+space.

Chris+Do+is+an+Emmy-winning+director%2C+designer%2C+strategist+and+educator.+He+is+founder%2C+chief+strategist+and+chief+executive+officer+of+brand+strategy+design+consultancy+Blind%2C+and+co-founder+and+chief+executive+officer+of+The+Skool%2C+an+online+education+platform+that+teaches+the+business+of+design.+A+pioneer+in+the+motion+graphics+field+since+1995%2C+Blind+has+made+hundreds+of+award-winning+commercials%2C+music+videos+and+broadcast+promos+that+combine+design%2C+typography%2C+animation%2C+live+action+and+visual+effects+for+screens+and+clients+of+all+sizes.+An+adjunct+instructor+of+motion+design+at+ArtCenter%2C+Do+serves+on+the+Society+for+the+Promotion+of+Japanese+Animation+board+of+directors%2C+Emmys%E2%80%99+M%26TD+executive+committee%2C+SalesHood+advisory+board%2C+Santa+Monica+College+advisory+board+and+Woodbury+University+advisory+board.+He+completed+his+term+as+advisory+board+member+and+programming+chair+for+AIGA+Los+Angeles+and+the+Otis+College+of+Art+and+Design+board+of+governors.

Deanna Kuhlmann-Leavitt
During+his+40-year+career%2C+Tom+Suiter+has+helped+build+some+of+the+biggest+brands+in+the+world%2C+including+GE%2C+United+Airlines+and+Stanford+Medicine.+In+1998%2C+Suiter+and+his+team+were+tapped+by+Steve+Jobs+to+lead+marketing+communications+support+for+all+Apple+products%2C+including+the+launch+of+the+iMac+product+line+and+graphics+for+the+Apple+Store+prototype.+While+at+Landor+Associates%2C+Suiter+helmed+the+branding+programs+for+the+World+Wildlife+Fund%2C+Caterpillar+and+Hyatt+Hotels%2C+among+many+others.+Early+in+his+career%2C+Suiter+and+his+teams+oversaw+Apple%E2%80%99s+corporate+identity+and+the+launch+of+the+first+Macintosh+product+line+introduced+in+1984.+Suiter+currently+serves+as+co-founder+of+Enjoy%2C+with+a+mission+to+reinvent+the+way+people+buy+and+experience+technology.
