Yehudi Mercado’s graphic novels and video game designs are acclaimed for their blend of animated cartoon aesthetics with comic strip sensibilities. At Disney Interactive he art directed projects such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Playmation. He’s also an independent comic book writer/artist; his latest, Hero Hotel, is a witty, madcap satire about superheroes on vacation, and includes bonus stories from a variety of cartoon illustrators. During his presentation Yehudi will discuss his work and several of his artistic influences.
This lecture is offered in conjunction with Michael Dooley's Humanities and Sciences course, "Design History of Comics and Animation," and is free and open to the public.
