Graduate Environmental Design at Art Center:

A Conversation with Department Chair David Mocarski
Wednesday, October 19, 2016
6:00—7 p.m. PST

Join David from the comfort of your computer for a discussion of how he applies the knowledge and experience he has accrued throughout his 30-year career as a spatial and furniture designer to teach his students to approach these disciplines from the inside out and to look at projects as total sensorial experiences. Across two distinct tracks, one in Spatial Experience Design and one in Furniture and Fixtures Design, David’s students learn to look beyond the single object, moment or place to see how collectively they make an impact in projects ranging from branded retail and theme-driven dining, to new hospitality, exhibition and residential design—delivering effective, inclusive environments using responsible material choices and manufacturing practices.  David will also share work being done by his award-winning students and alumni.

This session will culminate in a Q&A, offering you the chance to chat with David directly, as well as ask questions of Brooke Randolph, ArtCenter’s Director of Graduate Admissions and International Recruitment.
