Digital Witness: Algorithmic Spaces for Typography and Language addresses how digital tools and programming languages have affected graphic design, typography, and language. As a satellite of LACMA’s main exhibition titled Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film, which examines the broader influence of image manipulation tools, this section explores the effects and possibilities of computation, generative, and parametric processes in these fields. Participating artists are Vera Van de Seyp, Martín Azambuja, Andrea Trabucco-Campos, Allison Parrish, Michael Schmitz and Anne-Dauphine Borione (aka Daytona Mess).
This exhibition is presented in conjunction with Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film, on view at LACMA from November 24, 2024, through July 13, 2025.
