PRESENTERS:

Elise Co

Elise Co is co-founder of Aeolab, a design and technology studio in Los Angeles building dynamic interfaces, generative behaviors and advanced, high-fidelity functional prototypes of alternate/future devices and systems. Co holds a Master of Science degree in Media Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in architecture from MIT. At the MIT Media lab, Co explored the synthesis of fashion and technology. She is an Assistant Professor in Graduate Media Design and Interaction Design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, and has taught at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel, Switzerland; the University of Minnesota; SCI-Arc; and USC. Her work has been shown internationally, including at the Milan Triennale, Istanbul Design Biennial, NEMO Amsterdam, MOMA, SIGGRAPH, and IMRF Tokyo.

Raan Parton

Raan is Co-founder and Creative Director of Apolis. He oversees all branding and creative strategy. Raan also takes care of product development with regard to design, fabric sourcing, and fit. He holds a Bachelor of Art in Organizational Communications from Point Loma University. Raan enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsay, cycling and surfing.

Sonja Rasula

Sonja is Founder & CEO of UNIQUE USA, CAMP, and THE UNIQUE SPACE. She has dedicated herself to creating businesses that foster entrepreneurship, spread creative thinking, and grow community. Sonja was recently named '1 of 30 Women Entrepreneurs Changing the World' by fashion mogul Eileen Fisher, and Los Angeles Magazine honored her as one of LA's Top 10 Most Inspiring Women. She is best known for the Unique LA shopping events that she started in 2008 as a large-scale solution to bring together and support local designers, allow the public to discover quality design and support their local economy, and inspire people to tap into creativity. Sonja launched a creative business conference, called CAMP, in 2013. And then she opened The Unique Space, an 18,000 sq ft building in LA's Arts District that houses 18 private offices and an event space.
