Student Leadership Award winner Ciara Hart championed the power of community

A transfer student to ArtCenter from Massachusetts, Summer 2024 Student Leadership Award winner and Illustration student Ciara Hart influenced their peers as a student leader who championed the power of community and the impact of a shared purpose.  

“This place is magical and integral to growing the best creative minds,” says Hart in a personal statement for the award.  

As an Orientation Leader, Admissions ambassador, DEI Creativist, campus tour guide, a mentor to Los Angeles high school students, and an advocate for disability access and awareness, Hart deepened their commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment on-and-off campus.  

Hart and other students in the study abroad program Eye on Berlin organized a gallery and pop-up shop, sharing their love of ArtCenter with Europe-based alumni, faculty and residents.  

“The skills I’ve honed at ArtCenter—leadership, collaboration and advocacy—have been instrumental to my growth as both an artist and an individual,” says Hart.
