Dear Students,
In an effort to provide additional support to students during these difficult times, ArtCenter has established a need-based tuition reduction grant program for the Summer 2021 Term. We are hopeful that these grants will make a difference in the lives of our students and we look forward to having everyone learning with us this summer. As we will be using these funds to try to support as many students as possible, we ask that only those students in need of additional support apply for these grants.
This will be the fourth consecutive term that the College has made these grants available to help students who have been impacted financially by the COVID pandemic. Through this initiative, ArtCenter has awarded 5,743 Tuition Reduction Grants across the Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021 terms, totaling $9.4 million dollars awarded to our students to help them through these challenging times. The Summer 2021 term will be the last time we are able to offer this program and due to the limited resources remaining, grant amounts might be smaller than those awarded in prior terms. The Summer 2021 Tuition Reduction Grant application is open to all students. In order to meet the application requirements for a one-term grant, you must:
The amounts of these grants will vary and the funds will be used in an effort to have a positive impact upon as many qualified applicants as possible. Please note, funds are limited and not all applicants will necessarily receive a grant. Additionally, grants will not be available to students whose tuition cost has already been met by gift aid intended to cover tuition. This includes but is not limited to grants and scholarships from external or internal sources, or Cal Grant.
Students who are awarded a Tuition Reduction Grant must remain full time in order to retain the grant. Students who drop to a lite term at any time in the Summer 2021 Term will forfeit the grant and will owe the balance to ArtCenter.
We know that the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our students and their families in many ways and we hope these grants will provide some added support to those who need it. If you have any questions, please contact finaid@artcenter.edu.
Sincerely,
