Fall 2021 Auxiliary Services Update

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

We are very excited to welcome the community back to campus and would like to share the following updates with you.

Shuttle Service
ArtCenter Shuttle Service will begin operation as of Saturday, September 11, 2021. The shuttle service will run the same shuttle route and shuttle schedule for this fall term.

  • Shuttle service information can be found on Inside ArtCenter.
  • You can download the TripShot App (Navigation) in the Apple Store or Google Play Store for live shuttle service tracking, schedule and route information. (Please Note: For Android OS users, the TripShot app is currently undergoing an upgrade and is not available at this time but you can use the TripShot ArtCenter website: Click here.)

  2. Sign Up: Using your @artcenter.edu email and password
  3. Check your email to setup your account
  4. Create your account and start using TripShot

Public Transportation
Pasadena Transit operates the 51/52 route from the South Campus area to the Hillside Campus/JPL location. For those who already have a Pasadena Transit Access Pass (TAP card) they have been reactivated and you can continue to use your pass to ride their system throughout the City of Pasadena. If you would like to obtain a pass, please email karina.nunez@artcenter.edu.

There will also be designated pick-up and drop-off areas on campus for those using rideshare apps (Uber, Lyft, etc.).

Food Service
For the first few weeks of the fall term until we transition into full food service, we will offer vending, micro markets and GrabnGo type offerings in the Hillside and 1111 café such as pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, select breakfast items, snacks, coffee and beverages.

For Week 1 of the term please anticipate the following hours and offerings at each of the campus locations:

Hillside Campus
  • Open Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • GrabNGo Menu
  • Breakfast - All day pastries, breakfast breads, fresh fruit cups and bottled beverages
  • Lunch/Dinner - Freshly made GrabNGo sandwiches, salads, heat-neat pasta bowls, chips, cookies and bottled beverages
  • Free coffee at both the Hillside Cafe and the south end of campus near the entrance from the Student Parking lot
1111 Building
  • Kohl’s Café (previously Foodies) will not be open during week 1 for GrabNgo products
  • Food Trucks will be available during the following times:
  • Breakfast Style Food Trucks 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Lunch - Two Food Trucks from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Free coffee in the 1111 lobby

Individuals will be allowed to bring food items from home or obtain them from local eateries. While we are transitioning to full food service offerings in the cafes, food delivery services (DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc.) will be allowed on campus for pick-up in designated areas.

Sharing food, drinks, utensils or other items that could result in cross-contamination and spread of COVID-19 is not permitted. Regardless of the food service option, everyone must wash their hands thoroughly before and after eating to reduce the potential transmission of the virus. Discard all used containers in the trash or recycle bins.

Public health guidelines will continue to inform the opening of cafes and other contact-oriented food service.

Student Store

  • The Student Store hours for both locations for the fall term are:
      • Hillside Campus: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
      • South Campus: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • In addition, you can also place an online order for pick up with Johnny Ginsburg by emailing him directly at j.ginsburg@follett.com.
  • The Student Store is only accepting credit/debit cards in store, no cash payments.
  • As some of you may know, Heather Basile, has moved on from ArtCenter and Johnny Ginsburg has transitioned to the new Student Store manager. You can reach him directly at j.ginsburg@follett.com or 626.396.2227 ext. 2.
