The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that the immediate health risk from covid-19 to the general American public remains low as they are unlikely to be exposed to the virus at this time.
Since the virus has a 14 day incubation period we believe that anyone arriving on campus at the start of the term is well past the date of exposure. Furthermore, it’s been an additional 14 days since the United States began conducting enhanced entry screenings and illness response capacity at major U.S. airports.
While the College will continue to take ongoing preventative actions to combat the virus, providing increased janitorial services during the day and deep cleaning at night, we will send future coronavirus updates only if the overall situation changes at a national, local or campus level.
Meanwhile, we again encourage individuals to self-monitor and maintain an overall sense of health and wellness, especially if you’ve been in contact with anyone traveling from or through an infected region.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the office of Environmental Health and Safety at ehs@artcenter.edu with any specific questions or concerns.
