This course will build upon foundational concepts necessary to design and create models using stock materials and standard shop methods. An introduction to industrial clay modeling techniques will provide students with a basic knowledge of this traditional model-making process, providing the skills necessary to develop, refine and fabricate new designs. This course will explore the basic principals of form development while reinforcing students' understanding of 2D to 3D design, ultimately culminating in a professional-quality hard model. The process for creating this final project is illustrated in the accompanying photo essay.
