Vice President and Officer, Global Design, Innovation and Sustainability, Haworth
Michael Warsaw is currently the chief design officer of Haworth; a global leader of workplace solutions, commercial office furniture and premium residential lifestyle brands (including Janus Et Cie, Poltrona Frau, Cassina, Cappellini among others). He is responsible for the creative direction, design strategy and innovation portfolio as well as sustainability for the company.
Warsaw currently serves as a board member and trustee of ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA where he graduated with honors in Industrial Design (BS '90). Additionally, he is a board member of Full Circle, ArtCenter's philanthropic membership community.
Previously, Warsaw served as a corporate vice president of design and innovation at Johnson Controls (JCI), a global Fortune 100 company in automotive, building and power solutions. He was responsible for developing their innovation process and a new venture growth portfolio as well as leading their global design studios where he oversaw automotive interiors for brands such as Audi, BMW, Honda, Toyota, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler among others.
Warsaw is also a partner at Wood Ranch USA, an award-winning restaurant group in Southern California with 17 locations, where he's helped drive growth in the casual dining sector for over 20 years.
An active member of the design community, Warsaw is an advisory board member for the Cranbrook Academy of Art, mentor to the ID Grad School of Savannah College of Design (SCAD) and founding board member for New North Center for Design in Business. He is a longtime member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Design Management Institute (DMI) and the TED community.
A native of the Washington DC area, Warsaw lives in Holland, Michigan with his wife and three children.
