Biography

Lan has been a faculty member in Grad ID since 2016 and has served as director of the program for the last seven years. She is also an alumna of the program. Before receiving her MS in 2013, Lan worked to champion the creation of the Formula E student competition in China, which grew year after year to more than 15 universities. From 2014 to 2019, she worked with ArtCenter to create and produce the successful Create Change design forums held in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Qingdao.

Lan received her Bachelor of Industrial Design Degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology and was design lead and brand manager for Tsinghua Tongfang for almost a decade, where she helped create successful tech-based startup companies. As a consultant, Lan has worked for companies including Soreal Entertainment, Hero Entertainment, Bank of China, China Daily, Omnijoi Film, Xiaomi and Google.
