Biography

Alan Macey is Co-founder and Creative Director of the automotive design and brand consultant Curb Industries Inc., President of The Manual Gearbox Preservation Society, and part-time faculty at ArtCenter College of Design.

Alan graduated from ArtCenter in 2006 and spent the first part of his career as an influential designer in studios for brands like BMW, Bugatti, Dodge, Ford, Jeep, SRT and Volkswagen. He was fortunate to work on iconic products such as the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, 2013 SRT Viper, as well as race cars at the highest levels of motorsport, and a broad range of special projects and advanced concepts.

In 2018 Alan stepped away from his career of in-house automotive design to pursue his own business Curb Industries Inc., an automotive design consultant with its own collection of automotive lifestyle brands and products. Curb consults and educates on the automotive design process, as well as working to develop strong identities and great products with our partners. Creators and Co-Publishers of "H-Point: The Fundamentals of Car Design & Packaging," Curbs approach to automotive design has been embraced by schools, universities, and design studios all over the world.
