Geoffrey Brewerton’s passion for graphic design and brand identity design, together with an interest in globalization and social justice led him to Myanmar, where he now lives, finding inspiration in the colors, textures, typography and people of Burmese culture. As senior designer at Proximity Designs, whose mission is to increase the income and livelihood of Myanmar’s rural farmers, Brewerton has led projects that include brand identity and package design for The Lotus, a solar-powered irrigation pump, designed as a renewable, cost-saving alternative to diesel-powered water pumps; and "Paddy to Plate," a publication that explores the rice ecosystem in Myanmar, encouraging support for the income enhancement and well-being of small-holder farmers. Brewerton, who also holds a BS in International Relations, first worked with Proximity through a Designmatters fellowship that reinforced his determination to pursue a career in graphic design rooted in social innovation and social entrepreneurship.
