Iddris Sandu is the Founder and Creative Visionary of Spatial Labs.
An entrepreneur born in Ghana and raised in Los Angeles, CA - Iddris (now 26) has been in the tech industry for over a decade.
As a self taught programmer, he taught himself to program at just 13 and went on to consult for some of the largest companies in big tech including Google, Twitter, Snapchat, and Meta on future technologies like Augmented Reality, Spatial Computing, and Immersive Storytelling.
At 19, Iddris went on to become the CTO for former American Hip Hop Artist Nipsey Hussle - creating the world's first hip-hop store powered by Augmented Reality and Geofencing technology.
Shortly after, Iddris served as head of tech at Kanye West’s YEEZY. He would later collaborate with brands like Rihanna’s Fenty, Beyoncé’s IVY PARK, Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack, Versace, Prada , Adidas, and several others on Augmented Reality Experiences and Smart Apparel.
A former Thiel fellow recipient hailing from the class of 2019, Iddris has been dedicated to empowering GEN-Z to think bigger. Encouraging a new generation to use the power of hardware and not just software as a necessary catalyst towards building the future they would like to see.
In 2019, Iddris founded Spatial Labs - an innovative hardware startup that develops products at the intersection of physical products and digital identity.
Spatial Labs believes in creating a more conscious world where technology products behave more humanly - allowing its users to have a deeper sense of connection in how they buy, purchase, and experience the products they identify with.
Spatial Labs’ first technology product was released last year. LNQ embeds a microchip into physical products like clothing, jewelry, and art pieces. Leveraging blockchain technology, it allows its owners to understand information such as the item’s digital provenance, supply chain history, and perceived market value.
Spatial Labs is backed by Iddris’s business partner Sean Carter (professionally known as JAY-Z), Ron Burkle's Yucaipa, Blockchain Capital, and several others investors.
Earlier this year (January), Sandu became one of the youngest founders to raise an Eight figure SEED Round for Spatial Labs - a feat placing him as one of the youngest founders of Color to achieve this in VC History.
