Ken Kiyoyuki Okuyama was a chief designer for General Motors, a senior designer for Porsche and a design director for Pininfarina, where he was responsible for the Ferrari Enzo, Maserati Quattroporte and many others. Known for his diverse designs — including motorcycles, furniture, robots and architecture — he founded Ken Okuyama Design in 2007 as a business consultancy serving corporations. Okuyama also produces cars, eyewear and interior products under his original brand. His numerous awards include the 2015 Blue Ribbon Prize (E7 bullet train), 2015 Red Dot Award (eyewear), 2014 Laurel Prize (E6 bullet train), 2013 Red Dot Award (best of the best, EDA cutlery), 2013 Red Dot Award (honorable mention, Ringo coffee cup), 2013 Red Dot Award (Stile cutlery), 2010 Red Dot Award (best of the best, Orizuru furniture) and 2000 Best Concept Car of the Year (Ferrari Rossa).
