A member of the Apple industrial design team for 12 years, Rico Zörkendörfer is part of the core group responsible for the design of Apple products. Working in close collaboration with the engineering, manufacturing, user interface, graphics and retail teams, Apple’s small international industrial design group is intimately involved in all aspects of bringing a product to market. Besides being in charge of conceiving and designing all Apple products, this group oversees packaging as well as details of the retail experience. Zörkendörfer began his design career at the international design consultancy Ideo in San Francisco, where he spent six years designing for a variety of clients and industries. When he joined the Apple industrial design team in 2003, it was led by Jonathan Ive, now Apple’s chief design officer. Zörkendörfer has contributed to the design of many industry-defining products that have been enjoyed by millions.
