Wilhelm Oehl attended ArtCenter in Europe in La Tour-de-Peliz, Switzerland before transferring to Pasadena where he graduated with honors. In 1995 he joined Eight Inc. and later became a partner; he currently oversees the execution of experience for key accounts including the creation of the Apple global retail experience, all Apple events and product launches since 1999, the Virgin Atlantic Airway’s San Francisco Clubhouse, the Dolby Cinema experience, and flagship stores for Coach, Gap and Tourneau. Oehl’s contributions have received numerous international design awards and have been published worldwide. He has taught industrial design at the San Francisco Academy of the Art College and speaks at international design forums. A supporter of the arts, Oehl is a member of the Media Arts Accessions Committee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and a board member of the Grabhorn Institution in San Francisco.
