Los Angeles-based Elsa Chang is an illustrator and character designer who works in feature and television animation. After earning her BFA in Illustration, with an emphasis in Entertainment Arts, Chang began her studio career at the Walt Disney Animation Studios as a visual development trainee. She has since been a character designer at major studios such as DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, Nickelodeon Animation Studio, Paramount Animation and Disney. Chang has designed for numerous projects, including “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water,” “Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast” and Nickelodeon’s “Shimmer and Shine.” Previously, Chang worked on projects for Sapling Pictures, SpeakeasyFX and several Disney divisions, including DisneyToon Studios, Disney Interactive Media Group and Disney Junior. She has also illustrated children’s books for Disney Publishing Worldwide, her most notable book being Disney/Pixar’s “Brave: A Friend for Merida.”
