John Mattos is an award-winning illustrator who has applied his crisp, colorful retro style to numerous projects in his 43-year career. His "Rocketeer" poster was selected as one of the 100 best movie posters of all time by the American Film Institute. His clients include Apple, Adobe, Microsoft and Oracle as well as MGM/UA, Disney, Coppola/American Zoetrope, Harvard, Stanford, MIT, the U.S. Park Service and hundreds more. His work has been published in "Time," "Newsweek," "Fortune" and "Forbes." Mattos does pro bono work around his San Francisco neighborhood, creating logos for the Joe DiMaggio Playground, North Beach Merchants Association and Garfield Elementary School. He has received more than 150 awards including Gold medals from the New York Art Directors Club and the New York Society of Illustrators. He has taught at De Anza College, California College of Arts and Crafts, and Academy of Art University.
