Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City who creates art about people and their odd ways. Her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in their eyes. She explores myths and legends, astronomy, nature, love, childhood and good ol’ life experience. People and their relationships are a central theme in her work. Called the crown princess of poster art by "Elle," McPherson has created numerous gig posters for rock bands such as Beck, Modest Mouse and Mastodon, and her art is in the permanent collection of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. McPherson’s work was featured in the film "Juno" and her array of art also includes a variety of toys with Kidrobot, painted covers for DC Comics imprint Vertigo, and advertising illustrations for Wieden+Kennedy, Publicis Group, and Bernstein & Andrulli. She taught illustration at Parsons in New York for four years.
