Zack Snyder is the co-founder of Cruel and Unusual Films, a production company he established alongside his wife Deborah Snyder and producing partner Wesley Coller. He made his feature film directorial debut with the 2004 remake of George Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead” and has since helmed a series of visually arresting blockbusters across a variety of genres, including “300,” inspired by the Frank Miller graphic novel of the same name; “Watchmen,” based on the Alan Moore graphic novel of the same name; “Man of Steel,” starring Henry Cavill as the iconic DC Comics superhero Superman; and its sequel “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Ben Affleck as Batman. A superhero in the DC Extended Universe, Snyder directed Justice League, set for release in 2018, and is a producer on the forthcoming “Wonder Woman,” “ Aquaman” and “The Flash” films. Snyder received his BFA in Film from ArtCenter in 1989.
