Erika Kövesdi grew up in Europe tinkering in her grandfather's wood shop, where she spent countless hours building abstract toys, creating habitats for family pets and using old blueprints as drawing paper. After graduating from ArtCenter, she traveled the world and worked for an award-winning design firm in Tokyo; designed and developed a multitude of household items for global retailers based out of Toronto; and learned the business behind product development to create a personal line of naturally sourced skin care products. Believing good design is not only aesthetically beautiful but also purposeful, Kövesdi enjoys providing hidden experiences for the user—details hidden from plain sight but that make a space or product feel personal. Currently, she is working in the United States at Kohler Co. where she merges her environmental design education with her passion for developing products and unique spatial experiences for consumers.
