BS 11 Environmental Design

From a young age, Jessica Pell had a passion for architecture and design. This led her to ArtCenter, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach and philosophy toward design. As part of a furniture design studio at the College, Pell designed one of Bernhardt Design’s top-selling furniture pieces, the Apel. Also while at ArtCenter she was awarded the prestigious Angelo Dohghia Award for her exhibition design; and furthered her studies at Tama Art University in Tokyo, where she designed sustainable products and environments as part of the Pacific Rim project. Her professional career began at Eight Inc. in San Francisco, which led to a position at Rottet Studio in Los Angeles. Pell then founded Manola Studio, a Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary firm whose work ranges from a hospitality project near Joshua Tree to restoring an architectural home by Richard Neutra to branding for a restaurant in Highland Park.
