BS 13 Environmental Design

Jia You is a brand designer whose approach is human-centered, taking into consideration people's needs, behaviors and desires. After graduating from ArtCenter, she joined Brand Design studio at Gensler LA, working on projects for Microsoft, Waldorf Astoria, Herbalife, UC Irvine, Health Medical Center, Hyundai Capital and Riot Games. Previously, she worked as a freelance designer for the U.S. Geological Survey, software gaming innovator IGT, and others, and interned at global design consultancy Continuum in Seoul, Korea. Among her honors are the Spark! Award, Red Dot: Best of the Best, and IDEA Gold she earned as co-designer for the Designmatters project GiraDora, a human-powered washer and spin dryer for women in Peru without access to running water; and the SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) award for her work on Hyundai Card at Gensler. She currently lives in London where she is a freelance designer with Millington Associates.
