Stuart Fingerhut, former creative director for Toyota’s Scion brand at the George P. Johnson Experience Marketing Agency in Los Angeles, recently established SFS (Stuart Fingerhut Studio), a materials and process-driven studio where work is guided by investigations in 3D and 2D realms. From hand assembling laser-cut sheets of metalized acrylic to sculpting landscapes in a digital 3D environment, the studio's goal is to create objects and experiences inviting viewers to look away from a screen and engage with a space or object. Among Fingerhut’s areas of focus are light, color and space, and how to leverage and intersect them for unique and memorable visual experiences. Making dialog of analog to digital and back frames much of the studio's output with the aim of producing new visual aesthetics and spatial experiences. Projects include work that is at times biomorphic, hyper technological or both.
