Roy Santua, a visual development artist for Warner Bros. Animation Group, started his career as an architectural designer and draftsman. He transitioned from the technical to the creative field, with the ultimate goal of realizing a profession in the animation film industry. After working as an illustrator in Minnesota, Santua moved to California to attend ArtCenter, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Design. Santua worked as a visual development artist at top studios including The Jim Henson Company and DreamWorks Animation. He also spent a year as a designer and illustrator at Thinkwell Group, the large-scale entertainment design service. Santua’s recent animation film credits include Storks, Home and Turbo. He has also taught visual development for animation at the Pasadena-based Concept Design Academy.
