Jonathan Goldman has dedicated his life to improving lives. Today he works for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), an organization whose stated mission is “to improve lives.” Through a Designmatters fellowship at ArtCenter, Goldman first landed at the Organization of American States (OAS) and their Art Museum of the Americas, which went on to hire him. He then spent five years rebranding the museum, managing the production of all its exhibitions and programming, and went back to school to pursue his master’s in exhibition design at George Washington University. At the OAS, Goldman discovered the important role exhibition design and communication design play in fostering new ways of thinking and understanding. For the past year, he has worked in the IDB as the organization’s curator and exhibition designer, where he creates exhibitions that support and further the role of artists, designers and other creative people in international development.
