From his studio in Marin County, California, Michael Schwab has established a reputation as one of America’s most recognized and beloved graphic artists. He has created award-winning logos and posters for a remarkable list of prestigious clients, including the San Francisco Opera, Amtrak, Pebble Beach, Ralph Lauren, Major League Baseball, Robert Redford, Turner Classic Movies and the National Park Service. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Schwab gained an early appreciation and respect for the land, experiences that would seep into and help shape his mature artwork. Having attended school in Texas, New York and California, Schwab has a broad array of visual, cultural and geographic references to which he regularly turns for ideas. His work is striking in its simplicity and easily recognized by his signature use of large, flat areas of color, dramatic perspectives and bold, graphic portraits which often communicate a message of ecological and historic preservation.
