Director, RAND Transportation, Space and Technology Program

Martin Wachs is director of the Transportation, Space and Technology Program at the RAND Corporation. He was a professor and director of the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, for six years. He spent 25 years at UCLA, serving three terms as chair of the department of urban planning. Wachs is a member of the executive committee of the Transportation Research Board, and is a member of the advisory committee on Research and Development for the California Department of Transportation. Wachs served on the California Commission on transportation investment, and was the first chair of the advisory panel for the Travel Model Improvement Program of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
