One of the most important car designers of the current era, Frank Stephenson started his career with Ford Motor Company in Cologne, Germany, where his key contributions include the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. In 1991, he joined the BMW Group and led the design of the BMW X5 and the iconic 2001 Mini Cooper, reviving the classic British marque and introducing the car to the U.S. market with great success. During his tenure at Ferrari and Maserati, he was one of the minds behind the Ferrari FXX Super Enzo, Ferrari F430, Maserati MC12 Stradale, Maserati MC12 Competizione and Maserati GranSport. Most recently, he served as design director at McLaren Automotive, overseeing the styling of the company's 21st-century cars, from the 12C to the new 720S.
