Summer Classes for Teens at ArtCenter

Are you a high school student looking to level-up your creative skills with some of the world's leading instructors?

ArtCenter has got you covered through our summer extended studies programming.

As we continue to reimagine the full scope of our full extended studies programming, we’re thrilled to announce that this summer ArtCenter will offer limited four one-week courses to high school students entering grades 9-12 and recent high school graduates.

Program Details

  • One-week courses for high school students entering grades 9-12 and recent high school graduates
  • Two sessions available:
    • Session 1: July 14–18, 2025
    • Session 2: July 21–25, 2025
  • Classes run Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Lunch and supplies are included


Session 1: July 14-18, 2025

Character Design & Drawing with a Clothed Figure Model

Make your art come alive by developing your own original characters and practice the figure drawing skills you need to make appealing characters for film, games, animation, comics, and more. To help you draw your characters more skillfully and from many angles and poses, you will practice form, proportion, shape, and composition by drawing the human figure with a live model.

Exploring Creative Careers

Did you know that becoming a designer can lead to a prosperous career? Learn about creative career such as product design, interaction design (UX/UI), illustration, and more which all have good salaries, interesting work, and high potential for growth. You will complete a project to explore the principles of each of these high potential fields and learn by creating.


Session 2: July 21-25, 2025

Digital Photography and Video

Explore the world of photography and video. This intensive one-week workshop introduces participants to the art and technique of creating compelling photographs and short-form video content. The course emphasizes visual storytelling, platform optimization, and audience engagement strategies. This is a project-based course which is appropriate for both beginning and advanced students.

Secrets of Game Development

Do you love the exciting imaginative fantasy worlds of video games? Is your favorite part of gameplay making your way through each level? Learn what defines an immersive and engaging video game and use your imagination to create your own storyworld and dynamic game concepts in this class.
